Candle Warning Labels

Candle Warning Labels Clear, easily-read candle warning labels are vital elements of any candle packaging, whether it's intended for pillar, taper, or container varieties. They should be bright, eye-catching, and easy to find. Candle labels are especially important for gel candles, which are particularly dangerous if the flammable gel they're made of is spilled.

A good personalized candle warning label will not only grab the user's attention, it will provide straightforward instructions of where and how to use the candle. For example, it should tell the user to burn the candle only on a stable, heat-resistant surface, to protect the flame from drafts, and to avoid burning the candle when there's only a half-inch or less left. Depending on the candle type, the candle label can also provide instructions on candle care, such as how long to burn the candle for best results, or what to expect of the candle as it burns. Without fail, any candle label should warn the user not to leave the candle unattended as it burns!

While candle warning labels can be made of just about any paper stock, we recommend higher-quality coated paper stock. Candle wax tends to be oily; if the candle warning label in direct contact with the wax, the oils might soak through regular paper, rendering it translucent and making the text hard to read. If this occurs, the whole purpose of your label is rendered moot. Even if the label isn't in direct contact with the candle, melting wax might dribble over it during use. It's easier to remove wax from candle labels made from coated stocks than it is from plain paper labels.
