Weatherproof Label
The most important requirement for most industrial labels, whether they're intended for everyday use or to meet Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements, is that they be durable and weatherproof. A custom weatherproof label has to be able to handle the full range of temperatures, wind, aridity, and rain that Mother Nature can throw at it. With rare exceptions, you're not going to find any weatherproof labels made of plain paper; it's a rare type of untreated paper that can hold up against more than an occasional sprinkle. That's why weatherproof labels are generally made of vinyl, polyester or a similar plastic, although metalized versions are sometimes used.
Weatherproof WHMIS vinyl labels are ideal for marking volatile products and supplies, and are, in fact, legally required in most U.S. jurisdictions. But weatherproof labels are also useful for asset control of goods used outdoors or in harsh environments, for sporting equipment, for vehicle fleet maintenance, and in other situations where a robust, waterproof label is required.
