Vinyl Labels
One of the great wonders of the modern world, the plastic polyvinylchloride -- better known as “vinyl” -- has even more uses than duct tape, and that´s saying something. In addition to providing us with economical upholstery and phonograph records, it turned out to be great for making vinyl labels. It´s ideal for those times when you need quality synthetic labels for a reasonable price. While they´re not as inexpensive as paper labels, self adhesive vinyl labels are much more economical than most synthetic label feedstocks, and they´re adaptable to a wide variety of uses.
As a form of plastic, vinyl labels are flexible, waterproof, and chemically resistant. They work very well for bar code labeling, asset tracking, inventory control, shelf labeling, and the like. They´re also great for outdoor use, especially in combination with thermal transfer inks; most vinyl labels can easily last two years outside, given average temperatures and humidity (your mileage may vary). They also work well for moderate indoor environments too, but vinyl labels are more fragile than other synthetics, and don´t handle temperature extremes well. For those environments, you´ll need the tougher synthetics.
Self adhesive vinyl labels come in several forms. They´re available in standard sheets for laser printers, though for special purposes you´d do better to go with custom vinyl labels prepared by a professional label printer -- Etiquette Systems, for example. We´d be happy to become your custom vinyl label printer, so contact us today for a quote on your project. |
