Scale Label
|
Label printing scales are critical for those businesses that either send large numbers of products to individual customers, or sell varying quantities of goods by weight. The most familiar example of the latter use of scale labels occurs in grocery store bakeries, delis and meat markets. The clerk weighs the item you're purchasing and punches a code into the scale based on the item type, and it prints out a scale label that's then stuck onto the package. The label tells the checkout clerk exactly how much the item is worth, down to the penny, and often includes a printed bar code that lets them scan it.
In addition to price, scale labels can also provide information about when the item was packed, the price per pound, the sell-by date, and net weight. Safe handling instructions are also commonly printed on scale labels; this is particularly the case with meats, which can cause food poisoning if not handled properly. All such labels should be printed with your store's name, at the very least, because federal labeling rules usually require it; but don't pass up the chance to use these labels as secondary marketing tools. If you have a large version of your logo background-printed on your scale labels, the customer will be reminded of where they purchased that fresh, tasty product every time they use it.
At Etiquette Systems, we've got plenty of label printing scale options to choose from. We can provide you with plain pre-printed labels, or custom-designed scale labels meant to reach out and grab the customer. What sounds good to you?
